I have the following 56 k modem micronet Shuttle 3000 ( SP3008U) connected
with XP SP2 and an ISDN phone line in greece,
with the caller ID enabled and working on the line.

I am using the latest XP drivers from the micronet site.

http://www.micronet.info/Products/56K/SP3008UA.asp

I have looked at the manual and on the site, but I cannot find out if the
modem supports caller ID and how to enable it on Windows XP.

I have tried using the extra command: AT#CID=1

Does anyone have any idea?

TIA

Kenny

The data from QUERRY is:

Kenny,

1st: Please do not cross post.

2nd, please try http://www.modemsite.com/56k/rockv92.asp and see if it
solves your problem.

From the above site, use the init strings:

+PSS=0;+PCW=0;+PQC=0
or
+PSS=0;+PCW=0;+PQC=0;+PMH=0

Hello,

I was contacted by the Micronet support and I was told that infact this
modem does not have caller ID function.

However I have another modem , diamond supraexpress 56 e PRO,
and I am using the default drivers XPSP2 installed.

Does anyone know if this modem has a caller ID function?
The Diamond site does not have this info, and I do not have the manual.

Thanks in advance...

Kenny

If a company does not specifically state that a piece of hardware can do
something - it probably can't. I guess I am naive. I tend to believe
published specs, until I find out otherwise.

I am posting this for googlegrousp referance....

I got a reply from ZOOM support and as it seems it only partially supports
caller ID under only some situations (that your isp has v.92 and you are in
netwaiting modem on hold), here is there reply:

Subject
Caller ID on the serial external modem 3049L

Hello

Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.

Caller ID is supported when you are on line connected to a V.92 compliant
server, using the NetWaiting modem-on-hold application.

See - Title: Modem on Hold Caller ID is not working

Hope this helps.
