Callender Link to Excel/ Access

Hello,

Is there a way to link the Outlook calender with other
Office programs such as Excel or Access so that when you
create a spreadsheet (or database), it can be projected
onto the Outlook calender and updated as a user makes
changes in the Excel or Access program? This would
provide an easy way of tracking projects and also
presenting specific details on that same project while
still utilizing the easy functionality of Outlook.
