Hi,

I had a PC running XP Pro with COD installed on a second disc running fine.
Unfortuately, the boot disk died and I didn't have the original XP Pro media.
So, I bought a copy of Media Center 2005 and installed it on a new disc. But,
COD MP no longer works. I've updated the graphics drivers, updated the
VIa4iin1 drivers as per Activision's support line request, all to no avail.
(I admit that the installation of the via4in1 drivers have delayed the BOD
but it still happens.)

So, a friend lent me an *original* copy of XP (circa 2001) which I installed
on a new partition with a view of seeing if it worked. And it does.

A clean install of XP Pro runs COD MP fine, a clean install of Media Center
2005 fails to run COD MP. It's the same hardware in both cases, it's the same
graphics driver.

Does anyone have any ideas why one works and one does not?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Carrera4Life,

While you're welcome to post your question here, I do suggest that
you also post this to one of the microsoft.public.windows.mediacenter
newsgroups, as they may be able to assist you with their experience. :-)
