Just recently, my outlook calendar started opening in the list of recurring
appointments such as birthdays, anniversaries.
The only way I can get it to open my normal calendar is to open an archived
calendar. Then I can check on the default calendar labeled just "calendar".
That opens both. Then I shut down the archived one.
I have used the disc to repair, uninstall and re-install the software. No
help!
I have reset Outlook to startup in calendar. But it just opens in the list
of recurring events.
Nothing has worked. Please help. Thank you.

Try starting Outlook with the /cleanviews command line switch.

How to:
Start > Run > outlook.exe /cleanviews > OK button

Thanks for this solution. I was having the same problem and this
resolved it. Be sure to put a space between "outlook.exe" and "/
cleanviews"
