Trying to share calendar with folks in the intranet, but i just get
their appointments in email, rather than Outlook processing them. And
there is nothing I can do with the email other than delete it. Could
this be because I am on 2003 and they are on 2000?

Exchange or non-Exchange environment? If no Exchange, see
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm; if Exchange, please provide more
info on how you are sharing the calendars.
