Calendar will not save recurring events

I have posted another question similar to this regarding outlook contacts. I
tried t enter a recurring event in my calendar directly as instructed by the
MS Office help info, and when I right clicked on the calendar date, I chose
"new recurring event". After that it doesn't respond. I right click again,
and same response. Any help appreciated.
