John:
This is one of my biggest gripes with BCM. When creating a task or
appointment from a BCM Contact, Account, or Opportunity, there is nothing
easily visible in the task or appointment to let you know that it is linked
at all, much less allow you to easily click back to the Contact, Account, or
Opportunity.
When creating a linked Task or Appointment, I put the linking Contact (or
Account) in the "Contacts..." field at the bottom of the form (you're sol if
it is an Opportunity). I also often add the Contact, Account, or
Opportunity name in the subject field for easy reference. Thus, I end up
with a Task or Appointment item with the linked information in it 3 times -
once in the link to history area (that Outlook automatically provides), and
once each in the "Contacts..." area and "Subject" area - and I have to
*manually* add both of those. AARRRRGGGGHHHHHH! AARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!
AARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!
Sigh. I'm hoping the nice folks at Microsoft fix and greatly improve this
issue...
