Calendar Invite Not rendered

I am unable to see (ie. there is no content in the email
and it doesnt show up with "accept" "reject" buttons etc.)
some of the calendar invites sent by other colleagues. The
same invites are visible to others though. I was told by
our IT staff that this has something to do with the
iCalendar option of the sender. But then why is the same
invite visible to others ? It has to be a setting at my
end.. Any ideas?
