Calendar control not showing properly???

Hi All,

I have a largish (8MB) workbook that requires the user to select a date
on the calendar picker when the workbook is opened. The problem is that
the calendar frequently does not display properly. Usually it is
dropdown selectors for month & year that dont show up.

If l select the design mode icon the control 'refreshes' and displays
perfectly.

I have tried the workbook on several machines and all display the same
symptom.

Can anybody tell what causes this and the solution?

Alternatively can anybody give me some code that simulates clicking /
unclicking the design mode icon ?

Using Excel 2003 & Calandar Control 11.0
