Calculate "yes", "no" check boxes to reveal a total?

I have a series of "yes", "no", and "N/A" check box form fields in a
checklist document. Currently, I have to manually type the total into a text
form field. How can I keep a running tally appearing in the text form field
as the boxes are checked?

Thanks!

You may want to ask this question in a programming newsgroup, such as
microsoft.public.word.vba.general, for a better chance to get a knowledgeable
reply.
