Cached Mode in Outlook 2007

I am trying to figure out why when running cached mode in Outlook 2007 images
don't appear.

Example: We have canon copiers with scan and email features built in. When
i go to the Canon and scan a document and email it to myself while running in
cached mode it never appears. I am able to see the document in OWA as well
as when i remove cached mode and restart outlook. Cached mode it used a lot
in our environment because of all the people that travel so removing cached
mode is not an option

Any suggestions?
