when i try to get into yahoo version of scrabble, i get a box telling me that
- I have a old version of the client cache. and need to restart browser and
come back to retrieve the current version.

except i don't know how to do that

This sounds different from the other entry you posted

What version of Yahoo are you using?

To download the latest version, go here:

http://messenger.yahoo.com

or for the UK version:

http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com/

Basically, Yahoo is looking for cached files first. So, try this:

Open Internet Explorer
Click the TOOLS menu & choose INTERNET OPTIONS
Click the ADVANCED tab, scroll to the bottom of the list & check 'EMPTY
TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES WHEN BROWSER IS CLOSED' & click APPLY
Return to the GENRAL tab & click DELETE COOKIES & click DELETE FILES
Click OK
Now try again with you Yahoo game

i did what u told me on the 2nd part, and it didn't work. but not sure
about the first part re: dowloading yahoo messenger. since i don't want the
messenger just playing the games.

What version of Messenger do you have Annette? I think version 7, but you
can confirm this by clicking the HELP menu & then ABOUT

Looking at the help article on Yahoo 7 it says to do what I told you to do
if you cannot load any of the games
