your question as posted is not very informative.
you didn't mentioned your hardware ie what kind of sound hardware do you have?
what are you using for software drivers?
Generally speaking, you could have many things wrong ie some setting wrong.
one possible suggestion is to remove your software drivers, logically remove
your sound hardware, shut down and physically remove sound hardware, if a
part of the motherboard, then just reboot and reinstall sound drivers, if
sound hardware is seperate. then on reboot check and ensure sound hardware is
gone, then shutdown reinstall hardware, boot and reinstall software drivers.
