I can play mp3 files on my desktop (windows media player 6.4) but the same
mp3 files will not play on my laptop (windows media player 11). I get error
code COOD1199. I tried downloading the Microsoft Codec Installation Package
to my laptop but it couldn't be loaded due to an incompatibilty problem with
media player 11. I would appreciate any advice or solution to this problem.

Trawl through this lot.

http://www.google.fr/search?q=COOD11...ient=firefox-a

You can also try re-downloading WMP11 and then re-installing it on top of
itself (you can actually do that). That will correct any corrupt files you
MAY have.

Or roll back to WMP10 if all else fails.

Cheers,
Jerry

Thanks for getting back, Jerry. The mp3's which will play on WM 6.4 will not
play on WM 10.0 or 11. I believe there is a Codec problem. I can't understand
why the mp3's play on an earlier version of WM (6.4) but will not play on
later WM versions (10.0 & 11.0).
