Hi Everyone -

I am having a shut down problem on my PC running windows XP. It occurs
after the machine has been running an hour or so and displays the following
messages:

First screen:

Services and Controller app has encountered a problem
and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on
Might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

We have created an error report that you can send to help us improve
Services and Controller app. We will treat this report as confidential and
anonymous.

To see what this error report contains, click here.

Debug Send error report Don’t send

Second pop up screen:

The system is shutting down. Please save all work . . .

This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

The system process C:\windows\system32\services.exe terminated unexpectedly
with status code -1.

The system will shut down in 60 seconds

I have done several searches but have not seen this problem described. Can
anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Please post copies of the Error / Warning Reports appearing in the
System and Application logs in Event Viewer for the time the error
occurred.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/en-us

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click for further information. You can copy using copy
and paste. Often the link will, however, say there is no further
information.

(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event Viewer.
Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the
message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report.
Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

cCleaner does a better clean.

With any cleaner you need to proceed with caution. To be safe you
should create a restore point before using cCleaner. cCleaner also
offers backup before removal.

When using cCleaner think twice before checking Autocomplete Form
History under Internet Explorer. You do get a warning but this one has
