C:\Windows\System32\ctrlpan.dll issue

I done a virus scan on my XP Home Edition PC last night and the scan picked up a virus
"Trojan Horse Startpage.EB in the folder C:\Windows\System32\ctrlpan.dll

I tried cleaning this file, removing it but access denied (logged in as administrator also

I can't even rename, delete it

Please help

Run you virus-scan software again to remove the file.

Once this gives you the OK check in the registrty in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

Delete any reference to this virus.

NOTE: If you get "access denied" try opening up a command prompt and type
tskill "name of process". You should then be able to delete the file from
System32

Let me know how it goes.
