I have a C-Media Sound card, everything used to be fine, until I messed
with some settings! I didn't do anything that serious, I swear!! B-)

I brought up the 3D audio configuration by clicking the icon in the
tray, and was trying how to get the front panel to work. Now that's
the least of my worries!!

Now when I try to play the test sounds in that same window, the
computer re-boots!! Also, 3D sound is gone!

C-Media's website is messed up, can't send them a message....

Anyone know what I did wrong???

Thanks, all!

There is no way for us to know what you did wrong. First try a System
Restore to before you fiddled.
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
"Restore my computer to an earlier time"

If that doesn't work, uninstall/reinstall the sound card.

Whew. Figured it out. Under the "effect" tab, the upper-left portion
is "environment." There's a button that says "More Option." I had
clicked that, and decided I liked the sound better.

However, if that button is on, DO NOT use the sound test under the
"Main Setting" tab!!!! Don't know why, but it doesn't like it, and the
computer re-boots!!

____

So, now that that's done, anyone know how I can enable the sound jack
on the front of my computer? I've switched everything I can find to
"Front Panel Audio," but it makes no difference, sound still plays fine
from the jacks on the back, and nothing from the front.

Thanks for your help, Malke!!

Jack on the front? Open the box and follow the wires.
