Every time I try installing my windows XP drivers for my
onboard sound I get a error telling me that my "data is
invalid" after the install program locates my new
hardware and attempts to install the drivers. I see that
there are some other postings advising the user to modify
the registry to enable the permissions setting under the
Hkey_local_machine...I've already attempted this fix to
no advail. Any other insight would be grateful. I just
upgraded from window Me to XP Pro. Onboard sound card is
a C-media ac97/cmi9738.

I used the drivers that came on the CD with the mother board and they
worked. If I go to the web sight and get the latest drivers, I get errors.
