C++ and the .NET framework class library

Have just begun to try and use the .NET framework. I would like to program
in C++ and use the Windows Forms classes to create windows desktop
applications similar to what I would create using MFC. Most of the examples
I have seen use C#.
Does the .NET offer any significant advantages over MFC to develop desktop
applications which require a well-designed graphical interface with
substantial high-quality graphics ? Or am I better off ignoring the .NET
platform for these applications ?
Is it necessary/recommended to use C# to use the forms classes ? C# might be
easier for a Java developer to grasp but can the same be said for C++
developers ?

Thanks.
