i have disabled all the options from the startup properties and the form that
opens has the modal and pop up properties set to yes.

i press and hold the bypass {shift} key when i open the database but because
i have assigned a password (numbers only) the bypass key is not working. it
blocks the numbers on my keyboard! is there another way to bypass the startup
options?

Press and hold the Shift key *after* you type the password, but before you
press Enter.

Never heard of that. I'm thinking that you have your finger on the shiftkey while you enter the password. No need to do that.

Open the mdb, password prompt comes up, enter the password, THEN hold down the shiftkey and click on OK (keep holding the shiftkey until the mdb window shows).
