I'm building my own case but I would like to buy 3.5" HDD
mounting cages/bays. I've tried to build my own cages but
I'm not satisfied with how they turned out. I've searched
the web but can't find anyone who sells these separately.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Don't ask, you probably don't want to know.
(And if you figure it out, hell I'd be interested in hearing.)

Any place that builds computers and also sells parts should have them.

best bet is to rip 'em out of an old case
my antec full tower case has removable 3.5" drive bay cages
if you can find one like that, there will be no need to cut anything

You can buy replacement cages from Antec as well. Look on their website.

Whoops, also CompUSA sells brackets that can be piggybacked onto an existing
drive cage allowing for the installation of additional internal drives.
