All buttons or certain buttons or one button in particular?

Have you tried going into the Control Panel> Power applet> Advanced tab and
specifying what the machine is to do in response to Power buttons events?

I suspect you're talking of a sleep button maybe, and that it's not sleeping
but shutting down. If so there's an option in there to enable the sleep
function, or disable it if you require.

I had a keyboard with various power/sleep keys on it. To disable them, I
simply pulled them off!
