This does not appear to a big deal but is a mystery. I have six webs that I
deal with. I use FP2003.

Under "My Web Sites" I see the six webs and up until a few days ago, they
all had that little blue button on the folder that indicates it a web. Now
one of my webs has lost it's button or dot or whatever you call it. Now it's
simply a folder. I assume this affects nothing but why would it go away and
how do I get it back. I am very insecure without it....

Select the folder, right click and select convert to site / web.

Where do you do this? I opened FP and looked at the six folders and I right
clicked on the folders and there is option to convert. I tried it in My
Computer, Explorer.... everywhere. I see no option.

Sorry... Open FP, then browse to the folder that is now missing the globe, if prompted to let FP
make it a web, let it.

If the "folder" w/o the web folder icon opens as a FP disc based web in FP ignore the lack of the icon
- it's a Windows Explorer issue and representation tool

The icon on the web folder comes from the desktop.ini file in the root web folder which contains:
[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=_vti_pvt/fpdbw.ico
IconIndex=0
ConfirmFileOp=0
InfoTip=Stores your local web site
(same as many of your other special folder have unique icons)

That means in Windows Explorer uses the Windows icon named fpdbw.ico in the _vti_pvt folder (part of every FP web) to display the
folder
If both files are there, it is the Windows constraint preventing the display

Windows Explorer has a constraint on how many icons it uses for special folder and often "looses" the icons
