Hello everybody

Here is my huge problem
I have a Shuttle XPC with AMD athlon 2600XP 512 DDR, and a 200GB disk from Maxtor
My burner was the Pioneer DVR106 and just bought a Pioneer 107
Now, I bought the 107 from Pioneer cause the 106 showed few problems
So I startup nero 6.*, burn my data, and suddenly whole XP freezes
Now I tought my burner was broken, so I bought the 107 from Pioneer and still exactly the same problem
This is also with DVDR nad CD's always the same problem. Starts to burn then it freezes the whole system
This get's pretty anoying now. Since I Know it's not the burner it self, what can it be
Ohw by the way, I've already reinstalled Windows XP in case i had a virus what I can't imagine but it's a clea
install now from a week ago or so. Still problem
Anybody any idea please

Thanks in advance.

How many processes and applications are you running when you
start the burn? Sounds like some task is running and taking
all or most of the cycles. Try slowing the burn speed a
little, stop other running processes, etc.

Also, how much power does your Shuttle have, you could have
too small or a defective power supply.

Since you've reinstalled XP I'll ask a dumb question. Have you loaded any
special device drivers required for certain motherboard chipsets? Examples
are SIS,
AMD VIA and possibly other chipsets. Also is your burner set to use DMA in
device manager?
