Burning a title (or label) on to a CD

I have a number of music CDs I made and neglected to burn a title at the
time I burned the CDs. My burning software does not allow to burn a CD
title after the fact.

Is there some way to burn a title on a music CD after the music tracks have
been burned?

Probably not. After your burner finished with the music files it
closed the session and that locked the CD to any future additions.

What you might do is copy the CD to your hard drive and then burn a
new CD with the title that you left out. Hey, disks are cheap!

Hi Mel,

More specifically, I converted 12 LP's using Audicity and burned 12 CD's but
neglected to add the title or label on the CD. The format on the CD is of
course *.cda. My auto CD player will read out the CD title (label) if there
was one. I could reburn all new CD's and adding the title or label on the
CD, but if I could just put the CD in the burner and add the title, it would
save me the task of doing them all over again.

When I put the CD in the burner, the software will not permit any processing
unless I have selected a file to burn. I was just looking for a way to
sneak in and burn a title (label) on the CD.

I have a feeling I will have to burn all new CD's.

If you forgot the label then you'll need to burn new discs, but the
feature you are talking about may CD-Text rather than Volume Label.

The entire document at http://www.cdrfaq.org would be a worthwhile read
on your part.
