Burning

I have a dell E510 using xp and my DVD-RW will not read empty disks but it
plays disks. I tried burning from Wind media and from my computer. Two months
ago it happened and Del uninstalled and restalled and it worked. I only used
once. Yesterday I tried again , was on the phone for 90 minutes and it still
isn't working
