I am unable to playback music on other media. Am I using the wrong type of CD?

No. Burning in the wrong format. Some newer CD players handly WAV files
fairly well. The best way is to burn them in the exact what they came and
the format for that would be CDA I suppose though the CDA is really just a
file that tells where to get the track information as far as I know. I use
something called JetAudio for this. I'm not sure if the free version allows
you to burn but you can check it:

You might find something suitable here:

CD/DVD Burning Tools:

You do want to be using just plain CD-R (not re-writable) as the disks need
to be finalized in order to play.

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/jetaudio.html That'd be the free version of the
application that I use. I should think you would find it really nice and it
automatically converts the media files to the approprate format before
burning them.

So your trying to play a CD using another CD?

CDs are storage MEDIA, you probably burnt the CD wrong, try telling to
to burn a AUDIO CD. You may be supprised to hear that windows dose not
nativly support audio CD wring, you need aditional software for this.
