I have created a MM Project and would like to burn to a
DVD so people can look at it with their DVD player. I
have tried using Roxio, ShowBiz, and others but none will
recognize the mmw format from MovieMaker to import.

HELP!

See the DVD Software... section of www.papajohn.org

You have two paths to go down. Save it as a DV-AVI, which most DVD authoring
software packages can handle. Or use the Sonic software, which can use the
WMV files as input.

How do I save the MM2 project as an AVI-DVD? There is no
option for me to do that.

Hi Charles,

File > Save Movie File > My Computer > Name and Location > Show more choices
(if you only see the best quality choice) > Other Settings > DV-AVI from the
picklist.

Nero recognizes WMV for me. I use it to burn VCD. I have to drag the file
into Nero since WMV isn't a choice. Maybe the other burners will work with
it if you drag the file to the burner.

WMM2 doesn't support burning to anything that can be played on today's
stand-alone DVD players. Even then, it only supports HighMAT CDs; a DVD
version of HighMAT is in the works, see
http://news.com.com/2100-1041-1000351.html

You can use third-party software to burn the WMV (*not* the project file) to
a CD/DVD that can be played on a DVD player.

I run Nero 5.5 with the latest updates. It's true it looks for mpeg or avi
but I override that when I drop the wmv into the workspace window. Nero
scans it and accepts it. This is in the VCD production, in case it matters.
For that matter, I run Nero Express which I think got added with the latest
update. Nero downloads have been offering only v6 lately but a while back
there was a post with a way to get to Nero FTP for 5.5 updates. Good luck.
