After acquiring a single file of an album of length 1hr34 (94 minutes)on my
HD, I want to put it onto a CD and realise that it is too big for the
normal 80min/700meg disks.
It appears to be too long just to trim so is there software to divide it
into two. or is there another answer I havn't thought of

You did not state the format it is currently in. You can convert to a
different
format which may shrink it so it fits on one CD. For instance, if it is in
WAV
format, convert to MP3 or CDA which may shrink it considerably.
Below is a program that you can use to split the music in two if it is in
MP3 format, so you can burn to two CDs:

yes it's already in MP3 format
I will show my daughter and attempt that program. I hope it's easy!
