burning a large movie to a dvd

I've just finished making a large movie (1.2 Gb, wmv) and would like to know
the best way of burning this movie to a dvd. What programme should I use?
It's got audio clips and transitions as well. It took me ages to save it to
my hard disk, but now I need to make a dvd. Also, is there any way of
splitting a wmv file, to create
two smaller files?
