Burning home digital camera movies, converted to wmv files, to a D

My hardware and software consists of the folowing:

Panasonic PV-GS31 Mini digital movie camera.
Windows XP operating systyem.
Windows Move Maker 2.1.4026 video software.
Samsung DVDRW Burner.
Nero Express CD/DVD recording software.

My question is; why I am not able to burn the edited home movie files to a
DVD?

So far, this is what I have done; The video starts out in an unfamiliar
file format on the camera. When I download the digital tape to my computer
it converts the files to a Microsoft Windows Movie Maker (.MSWMM) file.
After I have completed my editing in Movie Maker 2.1 I am prompted to save
the file on the computer HD as a Windows Media Audio/video (.wmv) file and
store it under the "My Videos" folder. I have been able to burn the wmv file
to a regular CD so it can be played back on another computer, but I was
trying to get it into a DVD format that could be played on a DVD player.

When I open up Nero Express and try to add the file to the burn list I get
an error message, "No compatible file found!"

What am I doing wrong?
Do I need a more advanced version of Nero?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

This is just the project file for MM to remember where everything is and the
project changes.

You need to save the files as dv.avi file. Nero will then burn it to dvd for
you.

Go here for great info:

Panasonic supply software with the camera that creates a dv-avi file when it
downloads

This can be converted to other formats e.g. mpeg2 and vob with the Panasonic
software or with Ulead Movie Factory (I got this with my DVD drive).

But as I said in another post, copying DVDs once created is not so easy
