I have created a slideshow through windows movie maker,
and it is currently saved in the only format option I
have..which is "movie-title.MSWMM". I have Nero Software
for burning DVDs, but it says that file type cannot be
opened or is not compatible with the software. Here's
the catch 22 though.. On my computer, I have 2 sample
Movie Maker Movies that came with my computer. Those can
be uploaded and burned to a DVD. They have a different
format, which is "sample-movie.WMV". Is there some way
that I can convert the MSWMM file to a WMV? Or do you
know of any DVD burning software out there that handles
MSWMM files? I need this to play in a DVD player, a CD
just won't be sufficient for the project this is for.
Please HELP!!!!

Erica,

You have saved just the project file... This is not recognized by anything
except Movie maker.

You need to save it as a Movie.

Go back in Movie maker and open your project. Either choose "Save to my
Computer" from the side bar on the left side under "3. Finish Movie" or from
the File menu above select "Save Movie File". Both would lead you to a
wizard with choices to make about size of the output video.
