After burning a cd on a cd-rw disc, it plays on the
computer,but won't play on cd player in car or home.

Cd players don't usually cope very well with cdrw. Do it on a cdr . Even
then some older players won't play it

Very few car CD players can play rewritable disks. Audio disks should always
be made on CD-R media only. Also, a disk must be finalized before it can be
read in a standard CD player.

When you burn you cd you have to finalize it to enable it to be played in other devices besides your pc
