I'm trying to diagnose a misbehaving computer. It restarts randomly. Can
anyone point me to a good but free diagnostics program and/or burn-in
program? Specifically, I want to test the hard-disk, RAM, CPU, video memory,
registers, and any other item that doesn't require input. I need it to run
continuously until I interupt it. I am a technet member, so if I have access
to anything through those channels, that would be great. If there are no
free apps out there, how about reasonably priced? I'd rather not, but I
couuld spring $50 or less on a program.

Have you checked the BIOS to see if it has an Extended/Burn-in mode?

I found one that is pretty good and it's donation based:

Sandra Lite by SiSoftware. I downloaded it from http://www.filehippo.com.
I'm sure you can get it on other sites such as majorgeeks.com or download.com
as well.

I ran across one since the original thread...Intel's Hardware Monitor
programs come with a tool that is easily configured to exercise the CPU,
memory, hdd, etc. I'm not sure if these free programs work with other
motherboards.
