These are not bugs in Outlook 2007 but configuration issues on your machine.
For all virus scanners you should disable their integration with Outlook
and/or any mail protocol; they do not provide an additional layer of
security and are known sources to cause these issues.
As for the dat-file issues; change your message format from Rich Text to
Plain Text or HTML.
