Bug Word 2003 Serial Letter

Hi,
I installed KB943983. After that I made a serial letter. The field in the
toolbar where the number of the data record is shown only showes 2 digits.
After deinstalling the update the number of the data record is indivates
correct.

This behavior also appears after installing SP3 for Office 2003

Is this a bug in KB943983? Is there a solution to install SP3 an not have
the problem

It's a known bug. There is currently no fix (apart from not installing the
update).

Hi,
does anybody know when this bug will be fixed? Until that SP3 is not useable
for our needs.

There is now a hotfix available http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948529
which fixes the problem
