I would like to report a bug in Windows XP Professional with SP2.
If an XP box establishes a PPP session and then a PPTP session, the XP
box uses the DNS resolvers allocated by the initial PPP session rather
than the resolvers allocated by PPTP.
This is a serious problem, for exampe, if you want users to use an
internal corporate DNS resolver, and not their ISP's.
This bug sounds similar to, but is not the same as, Q840629 ("The DNS
search order is reversed on the DHCP client in Windows 2000 and
Windows XP").

Please can someone fix this before it drives me spare. At least our
MacOS and Linux clients behave themselves ;-)
I'd be happy to provide ipconfig output as evidence, but this is
easily reproducable on any XP box.
thanks, josh.
