Windows Explorer ALT+D shortcut doesn't work in Vista SP1.

reproduction steps:
1. open Windows Explorer
2. press ALT+D

Vista help on line guide says that
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...033.mspx#EEAAE
"The following table contains keyboard shortcuts for working with Windows
Explorer windows or folders:
ALT+D Select the Address bar"

but it doesn't work!

Sorry, but it works fine for me. Suggested troubleshooting steps would
involve rebooting the PC, replacing the keyboard, checking for updated input
device drivers, and so on.

What if you go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools |
Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

1) I signaled a bug for Windows Explorer NOT Internet Explorer
2) Internet Explorer is also affected by this bug
3) I haven't any add ons installed, except Flash. And the bug persists also
with "IE No Add-ons" mode.

I think that Frank suggested IE No Add-ons because these also affect
Windows Explorer behavior. My guess is that some other program has
appropriated the Alt+D shortcut key, so you would need to find that
program.

It could be a setting from a game or something that you recently
installed. You could try a System Restore, or reinstalling IE 7 (the
settings for IE affect both IE and Windows Explorer). There are
several third party tools that allow you to control all shortcut keys,
there might be one out there that identifies the owners of shortcut
keys.

I figure the answer is probably buried in a key inside the registry
somewhere and that's why a system restore would fix it. Reinstalling
IE7 would also allow IE to reset the keys.

Nope.
It was because he didn't read the post very well at all.
