the BUG in Vista RTM

you can type Chinese characters "联通“ in a new text file , save it ,then
open it ,you will find ”联通“is lost ,and only a "?" left in the text file
..this BUG also exist in Windows XP.

if you cann't type ”联通“,you can copy it into the text file.

Save the text file as unicode and the characters will be preserved. You are running an English version of Vista, and those Chinese characters are not translatable into the 1252 ANSI codepage and are replaced with question marks. This is the same behavior in Vista as every other previous Windows OS.

yes ,saving as unicode can preserve the Chinese characters,but you should
select unicode ,whereas,people often save it as default ,they don't select
"save as type ".

When did the Chinese RTM of Vista come out? I haven't heard any announcements ...

They have the volume license copies the same as everywhere else since Nov
30.

In localized chinese version, you will have everything in Chinese, including
all icon's label, default folder name etc.
