Bug in the target designer?

I'm officially a newbie with Windows XPe.... so please be kind.

Note: This pertains to the Microsoft trial version. I have purchased and
received the MS Windows XP Embedded with Windows Embedded Studio just today. If
the problem I am encountering is not present in the full package please let me
know as I have not installed it yet.

======================= The problem

After running through the steps to make a Run Time build I get the following

Successfully imported the device.pmq file
Ran the dependency and fixed all errors
SAVED as CS24 build at \Win XP Embedded\CS24 build.slx

I then ran through and added components which by the way takes a VERY long time
and then tried to SAVE and was not able to. The error message was, "Memory error
in saving"

Each time we attempt to build a system, this same error continues to appear
after what seems a certain number of components (threshold?) are selected.

We tried about a 1/2 dozen builds each time an "Memory error in saving" when we
attempt to save the *.slx file.

This computer has plenty of hd space (+50GB), plenty of memory (+1GB), and a
fast CPU (3GHz) running on Windows 2000 SP4 (with the latest July rollout).

What is going on and how do I solve this problem? I found many Goggle
references to this same error message but no solutions. Is this a bug in the
Target Designer program? I somehow doubt this considering this should be a
fairly mature program.

Thank you,
SDC

I should also note that I am currently using the target designer in stand-alone
mode (without the SQL server).

You might want to start with the basics and see if you can build
anything-for eaxmple, add only teh Winlogon Sample macro to your config, run
check dependencies and then build. Is that successful?

Target Designer has a hard time handling very large configurations, as you
probably have read about in previous newsgroup posts. How large is the
config you are trying to build?
