I've poked around trying to find a place to report a bug,
but no such luck. I've tried searching this newsgroup for
similar posts, but again no luck.
The bug I've discovered involves inserting a notebook as
an object into another notebook. This has the inserted
object float around on the first notebook, acting as a
seperate entity. When you print the notebook, the inserted
notebook object prints like any other notebook, with no
gridlines in it. However, when you save your current
notebook, and then at a later date reopen it, printing the
notebook is a problem because the inserted notebook object
prints with the gridlines! We've tried to include the
other notebook as a "linked" object, but that causes the
gridlines to print immediately. The only workaround we've
found is to delete the inserted notebook, and then
reinsert it, then print. This is very annoying, as the
inserted notebook has to be resized each time you do this.
This occurs on our two machines here with Excel, on 2000
and XP. We tried updating them to the latest patches and
such, but that didn't fix the problem. If anyone else can
confirm this or provide a solution, that would help.
