Sounds like a simple solution: Don't put "OM_fulfilment_script.vbs ola
adeus" in notepad.

| Hi !
|
| I found what appears to be a bug in notepad.
|
| Try the following (I've tryed in WinXP, Win2000 and Win2003):
| 1. Create a empty TXT file anywhere (right-click and select new TXT
file)
| 2. Now, open it with notepad, and write the text
| "OM_fulfilment_script.vbs ola adeus" (without the quotes, and no Enter in
the
| end)
| 3. Save and Close
| 4. Now open it with notepad. You'll see only "squares"
|
| I've tryed in Dutch, English, German and Portuguese computers, with
| different locales, and the result is always the same...
|
| Looks like the file gets automatically saved in Unicode, only when this
| combination of text is present (you can see that when, after following the
| previous steps, you do a "Save as", and see it appearing in the
"Enconding"
| as Unicode, which normally is ANSI).
| Of course, if you open it in Wordpad, you'll see the correct contents of
| the file...
|
| I see this with a very low probability of happening again (this week I'm
| betting in the lottery!!), but still may be a bug that can occur with
other
| text combinations.
|
| Maybe there'll be a patch for this (?)

|
| Cheers,
| Hugo
