This one seems as good as any. Have any details to share about a particular
problem you're having?

No, that is very definitely the wrong group.
Microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support deals with the Help
and Support feature of Windows XP, and not with boot problems.

Ed, I don't know of any group that deals specifically with boot
problems, but a general group like this one is a good place for
such questions.

I am still trying to determine exactly when the problem occurs. when
the machine is turned on or restarted and gets to the memory check it
sometimes hangs before it completes. Other times it completes the
memeroy test and then hangs.after the memory test and it is not going
to fail a message flashes on the screen, too quick to read, and the
boot disk sounds like it is being accessed. when it fails but
completes the memory test I dont see the message and there is no
action from the disk drive.I have pushed on the cables connecting the
drives to the motherboard in an effort to reseat them. I pushed on the
power connectors too. Hasen't faild since, but i think the next step
will be to remove the connectors and then replug them. any other
suggestions will be appreciated.
