Rather than reinstalling beta1, I would recommend moving on to
beta2:--Windows Defender

Download and run--it'll remove the older version.
Some things to know about the new version: No icon is displayed, and no
desktop shortcut. The icon will appear if user input would be needed.
Updates come in via either auto-update (within the program) or you can get
them by visiting Windows Update.
A good many of the advanced tools are gone, but those remaining are
enhanced.
