buffer overrun

when i click on internet explorer this box appears.
microsft visual++runtime library
buffer overrun detected
program:c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe
abuffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the programs internal
state. the program cannot safely continue execution and must now be
terminated. could someone please help with this i have already had my hard
drive wiped but it is still coming up.
