Hi all,

I have seen many messages regarding this BSOD but usually the problem is
associated with using the wrong PID. We have a valid working run time image
and product key.

My problem is that this image has been successfully installed on a number of
, slightly, differing specs of machine, where the difference is disk drive
size, 40GB, 80 GB and 120GB. However, our deployment group are now trying to
install it on a 200GB IDE disk. this works OK until FBA reboots for the
first time (our add ons require a couple of reboots) when we receive a STOP
Error SYSTEM_LICENSE_VIOLATION. I have checked the setting in target
designer for target partition size and as the 'help' says for partitons over
5GB the value should be, and is, set to 5000.

Has anybody any ideas?

Disk size is not important, but boot partition size is.


Check size of boot partition.

Thanks for the reply, The whole disk is a single partition.
so it would be about 200GB less 8MB or whatever.

Since you said that it is working on 120GB and smaller then this is MS
problem.
I have never tried partition lager than 10 GB.
Just for experiment try to make smaller partition and see what happens. If
it is working then notify MS about the problem.

I'm curious why do you need OS partition larger than few GB, why don't you
use second partition for data and page file?

Thanks very much anyway. Just for your info the OS portion really is quite
small and generally speaking manages little disk I/O on it's own (thanks to
there being copious quantities of RAM). The product willl store a few
thousand large files (between say 3MB and 60 MB) rather than hundreds of
thousands of small files. There has been no performance issue with respect
to partition size so it has been left that way.
