BSOD to event log

I know that I can't get an OS crash dump since I use EWF and have moved the
pagefile, but why can't I get an event log entry to happen when I get a
BSOD? I've set LogEvent to 1. I've moved the .evt files to a non-protected
volume/non boot partition, is this the reason?
