hi all,

working on a friends puter, boots up fine internet and all working ok, if
she connects usb hardware (external drive/camera) to it it goes black screen
then blue with the usual stop:0x0000007E warning, unplug usb cable and reboot
all fine again. Even if it is plugged in before bootup this happens.
I uninstalled all usb controllers powered down then installed.
My webcam works fine it's a usb connection, seem that anything with a bit of
power troubles it

Its a dell dem 3000, sp3 xp I flashed the bios from A02 to A03, updated all
required drivers no virus/wares, just wondering not could this be a memory
problem, Physical memory is 509mb with used 450mb leaving only 59mb free???
Temp running at 31c

Cheers for any help

ps where can I get the 82801EB drivers?

I knew it. I worked on a Dell that had this exact problem. You need
the Intel Chipset drivers, which you did not install. They are right

Does your FBI/High-Tech Crime Squad have psychiatric Friend to sort you out?
I think you said it all by saying this:
<Quotye from the TROLL Post>
And once I get hold of someone like him,
I never let go... NEVER.
Well, maybe.
Someone stalked me in the Vista groups and
impersonated me until I finally backed off and
played nice.
It cramped my style, and so I came here to play.
WATCH OUT FOOL. Or you'll be next on my list!

<And another Quote from the Troll>
Ask the little boys over in the Vista groups about me.
THEY can vouch for how BAD I am!!!
So you came here to upset the peace of this NG old fart lol
</Quote>
<and another Quote from the old Fart lol>

Nass, please take earlier advice and just ignore this person. It looks like
Mick Murphy likes to take a drink or two at certain times of day, othertimes
he is quite lucid. We can see from the headers that he tried to impersonate
you and you do not need to respond.
