I have 2 machines on a network with XP home. When I go to
open a data base it takes about 20 seconds. I have checked
the network connection with a 98 machine and the data base
opens instantly. I have also checked the connection with
another XP home and XP pro on laptops and they open
instantly. I have run spyware removal software and have
checked the computer and can find nothing wrong everything
works okay but opening the one data base. Why????

Could be several reasons for this. 1. An error occurs and XP has to recover
from it. 2. Some virus program is scanning the data base etc. Try using task
manager to see if you can detect what is running when opening the data base.
