I'm not a professional, but it sounds like she may have some MALWARE issues.
Download Lavasoft's Adaware v6.0 from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com and run it
with the default settings. I'm sure that you'll pick up a MALWARE or
something that needs quarantined. After running, you'll need to delete the
quarantined files.
